Window supplies

So i've found that 3m 4010 heavy duty clear mounting tape seems to be best for real mounting the window glass. $4.96 on amazon http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotch-4010-Heavy-Mounting/dp/B00004Z4BU

My current plan is to cut out a VT shaped window on the right side of the case since i will most likely be getting a case with a window already on the left side and you wont be able to see much through the VT shape anyway. Then i will rear mount a sheet of orange plexi glass with the tape and have a UV light hidden in the back which should light up the plexi creating a VT shaped glowing window on the right side. I will try to used some of this U-channel mold around the cut out http://www.mnpctech.com/UChannel.html

as of now i don't know how well this will work since even though cutting out the VT shape will be difficult it should be possible but getting the molding into the tight corners around the edges might not be possible. I supposed i could cut individual strips for each corner or not use molding.

for the left side window i found a site that will make custom window appliques with art you supply. http://www.crazypc.com/products/PQ2-8224.html

so i can get one of those made with the hokie bird on it and use the UV orange option although i have to make sure that just the lines of the hokie bird will be uv orange and not the entire applique. As of now i have this art but i will try to find/make something better if i can't this is what i got for now.

The Planning

Eventually the plan is to make a computer case mod with a Virginia Tech them to it. Right now i'm still in the planning phases and just looking around so it will be a while before anything substantial is on here i.e. photos and such. For now i will probably use this to keep track of things i find that i will probably use for the mod such as paint tape the actual case for which i am modding and haven't decided on just yet. as of now i also have no place to work on this so i probably wont even be able to start working on this till July of 2011 but i wanted to get the blog name reserved for now.
